ABOUT THE TRANSCONTINENTAL RAILROAD
Trains and railroads have been around since the early eighteen hundreds as a way to get from point A to point B faster. This was easily the most efficient way to travel as long as you weren't going too far, but just like anything this new industry began to grow along with the distance you could travel. Then on May 10th 1869 the first transcontinental railroad was finished stretching 1,087 miles from Omaha, Nebraska to San-Francisco bay. This was a phenomenal feat that up to this day is still in use transporting resources across the nation in mass loads, a key way to transport anything in this modern world. This truly did shape the world we live in today, a turning point in history.
